Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is the second of the Transformers movies that was released in June 2009. It falls under the categories of action/science fiction/thriller and is rated PG-13. The main leading characters are the same in the sequel as in the first Transformers movie who are Shia LeBeouf (Sam Witwicky) and Megan Fox (Mikaela Banes). This movie was nominated fifteen times in the Oscars and out of those fifteen five were won to include worst director and worst picture.

In Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, the fight between the Transformers and the Decepticons ensues. Optimus Prime, who is the leader of the Transformers, is leading a military troop that consists of his team of Autobots and humans with the intention of wiping out the remaining Decepticons on planet Earth. Back home in the US, Sam and Mikaela are getting on with their lives when Sam happens upon an AllSpark splinter that he considers to be dangerous and hands it over to Mikaela (his girlfriend) to look after whilst he goes to college.

What Sam doesn’t know is that the splinter has infiltrated his mind with Cybertronian symbols. On arriving at the college he gets to meet his new roommate (Leo Spitz) who runs an alien conspiracy website and a girl named Alice who tries to get close to him. Mikaela manages to save the AllSpark splinter from being stolen by one of the Decepticons (Wheelie) and she inevitably captures him. Sam goes a little crazy and starts writing in Cybertronian language which embarrasses his lecturer. Sam decides to call Mikaela and she arranges to meet up with him.

Meanwhile, the Decepticons learn of the location of their supposedly dead leader Megatron and one of the missing pieces of the AllSpark splinter. They get a hold of the AllSpark splinter and bring Megatron back to life, who is reunited with his leader, The Fallen in the Nemesis. The Fallen orders Megatron to seek out Sam and to capture him, in order to find out where the Matrix of the Leadership is. Mikaela arrives at Sam’s college just in time to save him from being killed by Alice, who is really a Decepticon Pretender and both she, Sam and Leo try to escape but are captured by the Decepticon Grinder.

One of the Decepticons proceeds to remove Sam’s brain but Optimus Prime and Sam’s faithful car with electric circuit breakers, Bumblebee turn up in the nick of time to save him. A battle ensues between Optimus and Megatron, but Optimus is killed when Megatron stabs him in the chest with a sword. Sam and Mikaela are rescued by the Autobot team but with Optimus dead The Fallen and Megatron are free to wreak havoc on planet Earth.

The Fallen demands that Sam be released to the Decepticons of KVM Switch Units or they will continue to destroy the Earth and foldable bicycles. Sam, Mikaela, Leo, Wheelie and Bumblebee join forces and they are led to a Decepticon seeker called Jetfire. The group reactivate Jetfire using the AllSpark splinter and he teleports them to Egypt where the Matrix is located. Jetfire tells them that only a Prime can kill the Fallen and he unravels the riddle that was contained in the Cybertronian symbols that show them the precise location of the Matrix. Sam finds the Matrix but it renders to a powder in his hands.

Believing that there is still a chance that he can revive Optimus, he contacts agent Simmons and asks him to send the Autobots and the military. When they arrive, a huge battle ensues and Sam is killed by Megatron. Amazingly, Sam is brought back to life by the Dynasty of the Primes who acknowledged Sam’s dedication to Optimus, and Sam is able to revive Optimus. Jetfire sacrifices himself so that Optimus can use his parts in order to destroy the harvester. Optimus successfully kills the Fallen by blasting him in the chest and removing the spark. Megatron returns to the Nemesis and the movie ends with Sam and Optimus Prime sending a message to space that the Transformers and humans have shared a common history.
