Plot – Operation Dynamo, that took place between 27 May and 4 June 1940, was one of the most important events of World War II that changed to forces of war in favour of the Allied. "Dunkirk" tells the story of the incredible evacuation towards Great Britain of thousands of Belgian, French and British soldiers surrounded on the beaches of Dunkerque by the German army during the Battle of France. The British troops found themselves stuck between the enemy and the sea, with the Channel as their only escape route. While the embarkment of troops takes more time than expected, the enemy bombings slow down the operation even more and throw the troops into panic. The whole British coast in involved in the rescue mission, including many civilians. After days of waiting, the troops are finally rescued by a fleet of fishing boats, pleasure boats and lifeboats.
